Les voyages de Simon Faithfull qu’ils soient proches de son domicile ou aux antipodes, ou encore dans les airs, sont autant de points de départ de sa pratique du dessin, de la vidéo, de l’écriture ou de l’action. Ici, il présente une partie du projet Ice Blink, réalisé au cours d'une expédition maritime britannique en Antarctique, à laquelle il a participé en 2004-2005. Deux vidéos nous emmènent dans le sillage de l’explorateur anglo-irlandais Ernest Shackleton, pionnier des expéditions en terres australes au début du XXe siècle.

L’une nous fait découvrir l’île de Stromness – au sud-est des Falkland -, et en particulier un port de pêche à la baleine désaffecté, dont les bâtiments sont aujourd’hui occupés par une colonie de phoques. L'autre donne à découvrir la vue depuis le hublot de la cabine occupée par l’artiste durant les 44 jours de son périple en mer de Weddell. Il a aussi réalisé des dessins sur son palm pilot et les a envoyés chaque jour à 3'000 personnes de par le monde. Huit dessins, gravés sur plexiglas, sont également présentés avec les vidéos.
