Niels Trannois (F, né en 1976, vit à Cap d'Ail) Subrosa, 2003 Pour réaliser ses peintures, Niels Trannois pratique une reconstruction d'images mentales issues de son vécu et de ses références cinématographiques ou musicales. Il cherche à condenser une histoire et une ambiance dans une seule image, qu'il imagine comme l'une des 24 images composant une seconde de la pellicule cinéma. Dans sa peinture sans titre (subRosa), il représente une Camaro 1970 sur fond d'arc-en-ciel. Il réalise les contours de la voiture avec un trait vibrant qui évoque à la fois l'écaille et le pixel, comme pour accentuer l'aspect atemporel de cette icône du rêve américain. Niels Trannois creates his paintings by reconstructing mental images which emanate from his life experiences as well as his cinematographic and musical references. He strives to condense a story and an atmosphere into a single image, which he sees as forming one of the 24 frames which make up a second on a film reel.
