Gregor Passens
(Germany, born in 1974, live in München)

Kong, 2005

Gregor Passens developed the skill of creating monumental works, quite simple but nevertheless impressive ones, by using industrial material with an efficient and poetic style. One of his best achievements is Kong, a King Kong made of cardboard-covered tubular structures, at the scale of the space which it occupies. This work will also stop over at Santiago de Chile. King Kong, the migrating gorilla from the jungle, whose image gets gradually transformed through several cultural contexts, is a traveller just as Gregor Passens himself, who will also present a video created in Argentina, featuring a volcano as the main character.
